DOCUMENTARY | IN DEVELOPMENT
France, Algeria, Germany
Feature | Color | HD
The House of Shadows, is a documentary using the grammar of horror films, as a tool for the aesthetic and political deconstruction of colonial trauma.
In Laghouat, in the south of Algeria, in 1852, the French killed 2/3 of the inhabitants before burying them in mass graves.
In this deserted city in the middle of nowhere, gravitate the director and three characters tormented by this place haunted by the ghosts of French colonization, and terrified by the fear of collapse.
Can they liberate themselves from the shadows of history?
