(to)SLIDE - EMILIE DUDOGNON & VINCENT ROMAGNY
ESSAY
France
Short Film | Coulor | Super 8, DV, HD
(to)Slide has as starting point - and perhaps as final one - a super 8 archive of a playground created in 1968 for the kindergarten Keisho in Machida, Tokyo, by Kenshun Ishii from NIDO, and more particularly its large oversized white slide, made of concrete, which, because it has no access ramp, forces children to climb the slope on which they will then slide.
This archive is the basic material around which a commentary is organized, makes with new images of this slide, interviews, texts, in a reflection on our relationship to our own childhood memories in front of the playground and the distance which separates us.
